CREATIVE CUTS - Mazarine album launch

Mazarine is a 9-piece ensemble performing original compositions influenced by Middle Eastern and Mediterranean traditions. With repertoire ranging from orchestral soundscapes to upbeat folk style tunes, Mazarine effortlessly combines rhythmic complexity with layered textures and timbres, taking the listener on an uplifting and inspiring musical journey.

This June 26, from 6.30-9pm at the Maleny Community Centre, Mazarine will be launching their debut album, Sweet Moon Language, a collection of original instrumental pieces, composed by Michael Taylor and inspired by nature, travel, friendship, love and loss. 

Michael is a multi-instrumentalist and composer specialising in the oud, exploring its potential within a contemporary intercultural context, while respecting the oud’s intrinsic voice and musical heritage. He will be joined by a group of talented musical friends with a long history of collaborations and performance in the Australian world music scene.
