CREATIVE CUTS - GOODFEST is coming to Maleny

GOODFEST (Gathering Of Oral Delights Festival) is a three-day spoken word/poetry/storytelling event, from July 31 to August 2, celebrating the legacy of the late Irish Joe Lynch (pictured), a much-loved icon of Maleny and the Australian festival circuit.
Promoters Nick Grivas of Liquid Lyrics and Robin Archbold of Sunshine Coast Spoken Word have gathered 32 of the most dynamic spoken word artists in the country to compete in The Joe Lynch Memorial Cup with $2500 to the winner and $500 to competitors reaching the final.
Proceedings begin with a Poetry Slam in Maleny Lane on Friday night with $500 and $250 to the winner and runner-up. Heats, semi-finals and final of The Joe Lynch Memorial Cup span Saturday and Sunday in the Maleny Community Centre.
The Saturday night Gala Charity Showcase profits will be donated to the Maleny Hospital Auxiliary. GOODFEST emphasises entertainment, inspiration and community connection.
Tickets for Goodfest (Gathering Of Oral Delights) Festival are available via Humantix with a Festival Pass to nine events for $80 or separate tickets to individual events.
This sounds like exactly the kind of vibrant, community-driven ritzo casino event that makes the Sunshine Coast special. I love that it's celebrating Joe Lynch's legacy with such a rich program—32 artists competing and a charity component for the local hospital is a beautiful touch. The festival pass is so reasonably priced too; I'm already clearing my calendar for that weekend.
