HOLISTIC - LIVING WELL AS WE AGE

At RangeCare, healthy ageing is about more than healthcare alone - it is about supporting the whole person, including their physical health, emotional wellbeing, social connection, independence and a sense of purpose.

“As people age, their needs, goals and priorities can change,” shares RangeCare Marketing Officer, Rebecca Whitaker.

“For some, living well means having support to remain safely at home. For others, it means staying connected with friends, enjoying hobbies, volunteering, attending activities, or spending time with family.

“RangeCare believes every person deserves the opportunity to age with dignity, choice and confidence. By taking a holistic approach to wellbeing, we support older Australians to live active and connected lives within their own communities.”

Social connection is an important part of healthy ageing. Regular interaction with others can improve confidence, support emotional wellbeing and reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.

“Staying involved in community groups, activities and support networks can help people maintain a sense of belonging,” says Rebecca.

Physical wellbeing also plays a key role. Everyday activities such as walking, gardening, gentle exercise and eating nutritious meals can support strength, mobility and independence. Mental wellbeing is equally important, whether through learning new skills, enjoying conversations, familiar routines or community programs.

“RangeCare offers services designed to support older people in practical ways,” explains Rebecca.

“These include in-home support, social support programs, transport services, care coordination and community activities. Each service helps people continue doing the things that matter most to them.

“The RangeCare team understands every person’s circumstances are different. By taking time to listen and understand individual needs, preferences and goals, RangeCare can provide personalised support that promotes independence, respect and choice.”

As communities across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions continue to grow and age, opportunities for older people to remain active, connected and engaged have never been more important.

“Ageing well is about supporting people to maintain relationships, pursue interests, remain involved in community life and live with purpose,” Rebecca concludes.

“RangeCare proudly supports older Australians across the Sunshine Coast and Gympie regions to age positively, confidently and with the care they need to live well.”
