Step into the cool, sophisticated world of vintage cocktail parties and bossa nova brilliance with To Sergio With Love, a vibrant concert celebrating the timeless music of Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66.

Blending Brazilian rhythms with jazz, pop and easy-listening elegance, Sergio Mendes created one of the most distinctive sounds of the 1960s. His recordings became the soundtrack to cocktail parties around the world, transforming songs by artists such as The Beatles, Burt Bacharach, JJ Cale and Jorge Ben into international hits. 

Classics including Mas Que Nada, The Look of Love, Fool on the Hill, Pretty World, Chove Chuva and One Note Samba remain beloved for their irresistible grooves and sophisticated charm.

To Sergio With Love brings these iconic songs back to the stage in a joyful and stylish tribute performed by some of Australia’s finest musicians. At the heart of the show is acclaimed vocalist Anje West, widely regarded as one of Australia’s most accomplished interpreters of Brazilian song. 

Known for her work with The View From Madeleine’s Couch, West performs Mendes’ repertoire in both English and fluent Portuguese, capturing the warmth, romance and rhythmic vitality that made the original recordings so distinctive.

Musical Director and drummer Kym Ambrose (pictured with Anje West) leads a superb ensemble featuring guitarist Jamie Clark, pianist Joe Machan, and well-known Queensland bassist Helen Russell, who also provides backing vocals. 

The show also offers audiences fascinating insights into the stories behind some of Mendes’ biggest hits, giving fans a deeper appreciation of the music that helped introduce Brazilian sounds to a global audience.
