Forty-five years after its release, Stevie Wonder’s Songs in the Key of Life remains one of the most influential and celebrated albums in modern music history.Â
In a special event presented by The Jazz & Blues Collective, Brisbane vocalist Justin Stephenson brings this iconic masterpiece back to life in an unforgettable homage on Sunday, February 1 the Millwell Road Community Centre, Maroochydore
Widely recognised as one of Brisbane’s premier vocalists and a consistent sell-out performer at the Brisbane Jazz Club, Justin Stephenson (aka J-Funk) has performed across Australia and internationally for nearly 25 years.Â
Citing Stevie Wonder—and this landmark double album—as his greatest musical influence, Justin delivers a heartfelt and electrifying tribute that honours both the artistry and spirit of the original.
Audiences will be treated to a live performance of Songs in the Key of Life in its full original sequence, featuring the album’s most beloved hits including Isn’t She Lovely, Superstition, Master Blaster, and You Are the Sunshine of My Life.Â
Justin’s smooth, soulful vocals and dynamic arrangements infuse the music with new energy while remaining faithful to Wonder’s legendary sound.
Joining Justin onstage is a powerhouse lineup of Brisbane musicians: James Sandon – drums, Robert Flay – bass, and Aaron West – guitar. Together, The Justin Stephenson Ensemble will deliver a captivating musical experience designed for lifelong Stevie Wonder fans and new listeners alike.
