Led by Catherine O’Neill and the team at Little Big World Puppet Theatre, this enchanting Puppet Festival sets up in different Queensland villages every two years and is calling for established and emerging puppet performers, storytellers, and roving musicians for its exciting second year, with shows at the Maleny Theatre, October 24, 24, 1030am-4pm.
Have you ever dreamed of creating your own puppet production? If you are over 16, register interest now for workshops in Shadow Puppetry, Suitcase Theatre, and Crankie Theatre and be guided in creating your staging and performance and feature a show in the festival.
Whether you’re an experienced performer, a curious beginner ready for a puppet workshop, or a musician this is your invitation to be part of a celebration of creativity, community, and storytelling.
Catherine is a theatre director, actor trainer, puppeteer and maker of marionettes, rod puppets and larger structure and is keen to share the world of puppetry in Queensland communities.
“Puppetry has many forms - from a simple finger puppet to a carved wooden marionette, I want to share my skills in theatre making and puppet-making and inspire others to become puppeteers or makers of this enchanting art form.”
Expressions of interest are now open — contact Little Big World Puppet Company and become part of the magic! Visit: littlebigworld.com.au (Pictured: Catherine O’Neill roving with Horatio.)
