CREATIVE CUTS - Outspoken presents Richard Glover
Outspoken with Steven Lang has convinced the inimitable Richard Glover to come to Maleny on Monday October 12 to speak about his new book, How to Ruin a Child, at the Maleny Community Centre, 6 for 6.30pm.
Where to begin with Richard? He has so many facets to his life and work: he’s probably best known as being the host of Drive on ABC Radio Sydney, but, concurrent with that, he has also managed to produce a weekly column for the Sydney Morning Herald for all of 41 years, writing wonderfully astute observations about life, and in the process delighting millions. I’m going to write that sentence again: writing a column each week, for forty-one years.
He’s also the author of some 20 books, including the highly praised Flesh Wounds and The Land Without Avocado, as well as two plays. His new book is How to Ruin a Child.
Outspoken say they can’t tell you how pleased they are to have him come to Maleny to brighten up our lives!
The evening will open with another of Outspoken’s favourite people, Joanna Jenkins. Joanna came to Maleny for the first time three-and-a-half years ago to speak about her first novel How to Kill a Client.
Steven Lang enjoyed speaking to her so much he invited her back to Outspoken for her second one, The Bluff. Well, it seemed like it would be remiss if he didn’t have her back to speak about her third, just out: Bad Neighbours. All of them have been bestsellers.
