Not only does the Maleny Wood Expo bring together some of the finest woodworkers, craftspeople, and tool and timber exhibitors from across the country, it also provides a space for visitors to come and work with some of the best in the business through a range of hands-on workshops throughout the three-day event!

Hosted by Barung Landcare, the Maleny Wood Expo, held from April 29 to May 1, offers a program full of incredible workshops with master woodworkers and teachers who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the weekend for all generations to enjoy.

For the kids, there’s building your very own “Cool Stools” with the Bayside Woodies, woodworking techniques with the Blackall Range Woodies, creative bush crafts with Bush Critters, and model dinghy building with the Wooden Boat Association of Queensland!

Kris Martin from Artisean will lead the charge in building a kids' cubby from weed species and recycled materials over the three days, which will be auctioned off on Monday afternoon.

A highlight of the workshop program will be a three-day canoe building workshop with Brian Jones, where you can bring a team of friends or family to build your very own functioning canoe!

Other adult workshops include wood carving techniques with woodworker Don Powell, spoon carving and animal carving workshops with Carol Russell, bucket making, flute making, milking stool making, chopstick making and more!
